17. What was the hardest part about moving across the country?
Did having Ryan make it easier?
Did having Ryan make it easier?
I think the hardest part has been knowing no one here. Having Ryan has absolutely made it easier. As much as I wanted to move to LA, I'm not even positive I could have made the move if I had had to do it alone. With him here, I have my best friend and my itty bitty family and that makes it not so hard at all.
18. If you had to wear one piece of clothing or accessory every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Sweatpants. Because if I have to wear the same thing every day for the rest of my life, it's definitely going to be something comfy. Accessory-wise, my wedding ring, of course! I love that thing, even though I think it's snagged every single hand towel we own.
19. What is your favorite thing about living in LA?
The diversity. There are so many things to see and do and so many different kinds of people. If you can't find what you want here, I'm not sure you could find it anywhere.
20. What do you think are your best and worst qualities?
Holy seriousness, what a loaded question. Some of the qualities I most wish I could change? I'm impatient, I'm too selfish, I worry too much about everything. Some of my best qualities? I'm driven, I'm confident (though not always) in my abilities and I'm creative.
21. What is your most embarrassing moment?
I shared one of my embarrassing moments here...
but the real most embarrassing moment of my life?
but the real most embarrassing moment of my life?
Let's just say it's a story from long ago involving a toilet, a missing plunger,
my hand and complete, humiliating desperation.
my hand and complete, humiliating desperation.
And that's all I have to say about that.
22. What's your favorite curse word?
I can't say that I have a favorite (I'm an equal-opportunity curser). So, in lieu of a favorite, I'll tell you two stories about cursing. 1) When we were kids, my mom said "Shish-kabob" instead of...you know...when she broke something or hurt herself. 2) In elementary school, my brother and I went through a phase where we would go play out in the woods behind our house and just yell curse words the entire time we were out there. For fun. Because we were really cool.
23. If you were stuck on an island, what book would you bring?
On one hand, I'd want to bring one of my favorites (you know, the kind with the completely worn spine; the kind you know almost by heart.). But after giving it more thought, I think I would bring a book that would challenge me, so I could read it over and over and keep finding new things hidden in the pages. For me, that book would be Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison.
24. What's your fave color?
Probably pink. Or grey, perhaps.
25. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation. Or the power to make ice cream calorie-free. It's definitely a toss-up.
26. If you could visit any time and place in history,
what would it be?
what would it be?
This may come across as odd, but I've always found the Holocaust to be captivating (in a horrifying sort of way). It's unbelievable that such an awful thing could have happened less than a century ago. It boggles my mind. I took several classes about the Holocaust in college and in the back of my mind, I've always been a little interested in trying to write a novel about it.
So, I think if I could go back to one place and time, I would go back
to Germany during the time of the Holocaust.

27. Only vacation one place for the rest of your life or never be able to visit the same place twice?
I'd definitely pick never visiting the same place twice. Bring on the new adventures!
28. When are you coming down to the OC next?
Say the word and I'm there, homie! (Did I just say homie?
Does anyone still say that? Did anyone ever say that?)

29. Do you have any embarrassing pictures,
since you always look so trendy?
since you always look so trendy?
Psh, do I have any embarrassing pictures?! Of course. But those are the ones that get buried
somewhere in the depths of my photo archives, so I had to settle for these slightly embarrassing
shots I could find on Facebook. Please know that worse ones exist somewhere out there.

Yeah, I'm Cindy Lou Who. And I look like I'm smelling a fart. But, please, take a moment to bask in the hilarity of Ryan in tights. |
This is the morning of our wedding. Riding horses we found in our dressing area. I should have ridden this fake horse down the aisle. |
I don't think I'm the MOST embarrassing part of this picture...cough, Amanda, cough. |
Sometimes I'm an embarrassment to those around me, too. |
30. Where is your all-time favorite place to shop?
Lately I'd have to answer this with Forever 21. I love finding great little boutiques with unique pieces, but my go-to is Forever 21. You just can't beat their prices!
31. What's your favorite summer activity/date night?
Yummy dinner, a walk on the beach (I'm a huge cliche) and a movie at home.
32. Have you had a hard time making new friends
since moving across the country?
32. Have you had a hard time making new friends
since moving across the country?
Yes, and I think there are two big reasons. One, we've met very few people our own age. Ryan's coworkers are much older than we are and the same goes for our neighbors. And the people we've met who are closer to our age (at Girls on the Run or through the new employee events with Ryan's company) live in other parts of LA. I've heard it's hard to make close friends in LA because the city is so spread out, and I think that may just be true. Two, I have a hard time making new friends. I'm generally pretty quiet when I first meet people, and I am truly horrible at making small talk. Like, really bad. But we want to make new friends, so if you live nearby, hit us up. I promise we don't bite.
P.S. Where am I today? Well, the real life version of me is hanging out with my mom.
But the wedding version of me is talking about toasting cupcakes with a blowtorch at

The pictures made me giggle...I'm not brave enough to break some embarrassing ones, but they would mostly all come from my childhood. Fat kid, bad hair cut...nuff said.
