Over the river and through the woods.

My packing philosophy? Bring ALL of the clothes.

...to grandmother's house we go! (Sort of)
Today we're off on our drive back to Missouri.
Yes, our drive. All 28 glorious hours of it, because Yoshi's too fat
to fly in the cabin of a plane and I'm too terrified to have him flown as cargo.
Ohhh, the sacrifices we make for these little turds.
Ideally, we'll cover half the country in two 14 hour days,
with snow-free conditions and two agreeable puppies sleeping in the backseat.
But that's the ideal...I'm mentally preparing myself to have two dogs smushed onto
my lap the entire ride and to lose all feeling in my lower extremities by the time
we arrive in Missouri. But even then, it'll all be worth it when we get our hands on some
frozen custard. That's my our first planned stop, because I MUST introduce Dobby
the Californian dog to frozen custard. Our favorite places give away "pup cups" and
Yoshi loves them. He gets the same look I do when that beautiful custard enters his field of vision. Like, giant googly eyes, I'm-going-to-inhale-that sort of love.
But anyhoo...enough about custard.
I'll be on hiatus for a bit while we're in Missouri
because I'll be busy with family and friends, shooting a few photo sessions
that I'm super excited about and stuffing my face with food
(I've been doing two-a-day workouts for the past week
just to compensate for this occasion...seriously).
But I'll be back soon, and with oodles of pictures as an added bonus.

Happy Holidays! See you in 2013 :)

  3. Your packing philosophy made me laugh out loud at my desk. I seriously just said the same thing like 2 days ago.

How else is one to pack for such a long holiday? Bringing everything is non-negotiable.

Have a fun trip and enjoy the custard!

  10. Did you fall in the river or get lost in the woods? Do we need to send out a search party?

This is the part where you tell the pups how cute they are.
...but seriously, thank you so much for stopping by and for your wonderful comment! I read them all and try to respond as often as I can. We hope you visit again soon :)
