The week in rants, raves and randoms.

Rants:
  • Dobby chewed up one of my camera lens caps that I irresponsibly accidentally left laying on the coffee table. Off to the time-out crate for you, tiny dog!
  • You know those movie scenes where the lovably forgetful character leaves his coffee thermos on the top of his car then climbs inside and unknowingly drives away, leaving the thermos to splatter across the road? Apparently, Ryan was meant for the movies. Bye bye, coffee thermos. He's also done this with a pair of shoes.
  • I burnt my arm on the top of the oven trying to juggle my Mexican casserole between two comically gigantic oven mitts. The casserole was yummy, but I definitely prefer my flesh un-charred.
  • The treadmill at our gym has decided to play a sick game where, sporadically, it shuts off while you're using it, causing you to lurch forward, slam your body into the display panel and spill your water. But it only does this when I'm running, never when I'm walking. A treadmill that encourages you to take it easy...I'm pretty sure that's an oxymoron.
  • On Wednesday I went to our new doctor for a check up and those sneaky, sneaky medical folks tricked me into getting a pap smear while I was there. Fabulous. I love meeting new people when I'm not wearing pants.
Raves:
  • This week I sent out my very first query letter, pitching my finished novel to a publishing agent. Since sending out said letter, I have checked my email approximately 975 times. To say that I'm nervous would be a gross understatement.
  • I'm starting to feel better, though the doctor did absolutely nothing to aid in the "getting better" process. Perhaps her presence scared off my symptoms? I'll never know.
  • We just planned a sweet camping trip to Big Bear for the first weekend in October! I have a feeling I may be getting in over my head (up in the mountains in October? Yes, let's all freeze to death, please), but I'm excited about it none the less!
Random:

  • Snooki is now a mother. I fully expect the world to end any second now.
  • Have a great weekend!

  11. I once left the cap to my gas tank on my car and drove off but when I turned into the road I somehow noticed it flew off so I stopped my car in the middle of the road and ran out to pick up the cap and put it back on

  12. Once I was baking and microwaved syrup and for some stupid reason decided it wouldn't be hot and picked it up with my hand. Result - 3rd degree burns between my fingers and basically no use of that hand for 2 weeks. Ouchie.

Good luck with your novel sub! You know we will all buy your book in a heartbeat.

  14. Hey Andrea!
I've decided to come out of the creeper closet!
I've been reading your blog for months. Looks like you and Ryan are doing great. :)
Kyle and I are in NYC now and I've loved seeing how another couple from good ol' Mexico is doing out in the big kid world.
I'll try to not be such a creeper from now on. haha
