Sweet little date nights.

The other night, Ryan and I went out to get fro-yo and when we got back in the truck

he asked if I wanted to take our treats home or eat them by the beach.
 Beach, of course. No contest there.
He backed into an oceanside parking spot and we sat in the bed of
his pickup and watched the waves crashing in
while we ate our frozen yogurt.
I even had the pleasure of wearing his dirty old coveralls when my legs got too cold
(and believe me, I was looking like hot stuff).

While I love getting all dressed up for a fancy night out,
casual (and spontaneous) dates like this have to be my absolute favorite.
It was almost like being in high school again, when we used to
cruise around town in Ryan's mom's mini-van.
(There's not much else to do when you grow up in a small town.)
In six and a half years, we've spent countless nights sitting at a park
with our frozen treats, just talking.
This night was just like old times,
except the view has gotten a million times better
and so have our haircuts.
