I seem to have misplaced my brain lately.
Let me tell you about yesterday's awkward morning.
So, this week is my very last face appointment. Just a check up before they send me on
my way, thousands of dollars poorer and still unsure whether or not the treatment was worth it (more on that business at a later date). The doctor's office is only a quick drive from our apartment, but I'm a creature of habit and morning appointments interrupt my beloved morning routine of coffee drinking, blog stalking and novel editing, so I'm quite ready to be done with these twice-weekly doctor visits.
Yesterday, I grumpily woke up, got ready,
scarfed down my breakfast like a cavewoman and drove to their office.
scarfed down my breakfast like a cavewoman and drove to their office.
I got out of the car.
I walked to the door.
And it was locked. Huh?
I walked around the entire building looking for other secret, hidden doors
(and probably looking like a creepy, albeit well-dressed, burglar).
Found none.
(and probably looking like a creepy, albeit well-dressed, burglar).
Found none.
I yanked on the first door, in case I had somehow forgotten how to use door handles
(which is always a feasible possibility).
Nope, definitely locked.

Nope, definitely locked.
I was just getting ready to call them up and give them a piece of my mind, when I saw my appointment reminder card in my purse. For my appointment on Tuesday, April 24th.
FACE-PALM.
So I interrupted my own morning routine for NOTHING.
So I interrupted my own morning routine for NOTHING.
And I get to return for my ACTUAL final appointment this morning.
Sigh.
Sigh.
P.S. You know what else is awkward?
My hair in a side-part. I forgot how much having hair hang awkwardly over half of my face makes me look like a dude in an emo-punk bank. Or a sheepdog.
I think your hair looks absolutely lovely! I envy your length.
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny! Ever since I had kids I have become an idiot. I can't remember anything and say the stupidest things! Your hair is gorgeous by the way!

love the sheepdog look. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm over acne. I thought that was like an awkward middle school thing and would end when I walked across the high school graduation stage. Um, no. I hope these face-on-fire treatments work! That sounds terrifying and painful and expensive and so it better be worth it! IIIII like to wash my face with brown sugar and honey after my usual face wash. It cleans my pores pretty well and I'm usually zit-free for a while.
ReplyDeleteAcne has followed me around for YEARS. I remember my first break out when I was like 12. That was 10 years ago. Given, it's gotten a little better, it still comes back. And I have HORRIBLE scarring that I'm completely embarrassed of. Regardless, your skin look beautiful! Definitely looks worth it to me! And I'm so jealous of your hairrrr. =)
ReplyDelete#1. Your hair looks absolutely STUNNING like this! Love it.
ReplyDelete#2. I am coming to steel this entire look right out of your closet.

That really sucks! I wouldn't be too happy. haha but I hope it works out great for you
ReplyDeletebeautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI love your sense of humor. You always make me smilt. this is probably one of the reasons why you're one of the blogs I love to follow. You are a beautiful young girl, and you look nothing like a man. :) I also have hair envy of your hair.

Amazing outfit!!! I wish I could put such a cute outfit together like that!! :)
ReplyDeletei know what you mean. i'm having that kind of morning today, too. it's really awful. i want to punch it. and i don't condone violence usually.
ReplyDeleteOh man! What a bummer morning! But at least tomorrow you'll be done and (hopefully) acne free! At least you looked good, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteHave fun tomorrow!!

You crack me up. Sometimes I forget how to unlock doors. I assume it's much like forgetting how to use a door handle. ha ha! when my hair is in a side part I feel like my head is tilting all day long. It's so heavy on one side, plus the side with the most hair always looks way less cute than my thin side. Geeze!
ReplyDeleteI hate getting appts mixed up!!! But good luck!
ReplyDeleteFrom a person with a side part...I like yours!!
When you write funny little stories like this you make me giggle at my computer screen and then people stare at me. You're going to have to cut this out, sheepdog. :) Kidding, your hair is very pretty!
ReplyDeleteGreat Story! I myself have moments like these all the time.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Love the outfit - I myself cannot pull off a skirt like that... you my friend do it very well. I want that cardigan - even though where I live currently it is record hot so I shouldn't be thinking about layers anymore.
My hair is at an awkward stage I am trying to grow out my bangs and my hair only looks good parted to the side even though I like parting down the middle better... hopefully my hair will grown fast and I can be past this awkward phase.
This skirt is too cute on you! Thanks for visiting my blog!! Feel free to follow & I'll follow back!

LOVE that cardigan. And I think your hair looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhatever, your hair is gorgeous darling! I am in awe at the length of it. I don't know what I'd do with that much hair! I hate brainfart moments, especially when they involve frantic scrambling that ends up being completely unnecessary. Oh life, what even are you sometimes, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteCute skirt

We have the same morning routine. I'm glad I'm not alone.
ReplyDeleteBut I've definitely done that before w/my daughter's doctor appointment. I remember running late, freaking out, and finally getting there only to find out the appointment was for the next day. I could have died.
I've been trying to part my hair in the middle...makes me look funny.
Love the skirt! And your hair is gorgeous! I love the sort of ombre fade there is going on :-)

You poor thing! I HATE when I confuse the days, and now that I'm working a different schedule- I am all kinds of off. I also just broke out this week, so I WISH that I could go to the Dermatologist. I hope that you are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous look. Love everything here.
