and today we're celebrating with homemade Alfredo for dinner and cookies for dessert.
Speaking of which...
you know that ONE recipe you just can't master no matter how hard you try?
This is mine.
My mom's peanut butter chocolate chip cookies.
They've been a family favorite for years and they're a super simple recipe but every time I try to make them, they don't turn out quite like hers. Either the texture's off or they're too dry or too done or whatever.
This time I bought the EXACT brand of each ingredient she uses (and I double-checked with her just to be sure) but still...different texture. Small cookies. And where did all of these chocolate chips come from when the recipe only called for two cups?!
The only thing we can think of now is that perhaps her oven does
something special that no other oven can replicate.
So, mom, when you come visit in June, could you please pack your oven?
I'm pretty sure it'll fit in a carry-on bag.
