How to save money on gas.

Next Monday is Ryan's birthday. For months, since he accidentally left his old bike in Kansas City two summers ago (how one simply forgets something as big as a bike escapes me...), he's been wanting to buy a bicycle. We went bike shopping a few weeks ago, but WOW bikes are expensive! He found one he was interested in but we left empty-handed, unsure whether we wanted to spend that much money yet.
From there, I hatched a brilliant plan.
For holidays I usually buy him clothes, partially because I believe I'm a spectacular men's fashion advisor and partially because I can never pick out the other things he would want. Like electronics.
But this bike idea was perfect! So perfect that I almost blew the surprise several times because I just wanted to tell him about my perfect present. But somehow, I kept my lips zipped.
Yesterday, I could wait no longer.
I snuck out while he was at work, bought the bike and had it delivered (fo' free!). I set it up in the living room and waited (impatiently) for him to come home from work and see it.
And guess what? He loved it. I dun good. One million good wife points for me!
Now, he'd better ride this thing to work and back so we can get some of
our investment back in the form of saved gas money.

P.S...

What I wore: 30 days. No outfit repeats. Day 12.
