One down, three to go.

What I wore: 30 days. No outfit repeats. Day 7.
Ha.

Last night I got amazing news.
I received my first acceptance letter from one of the four grad programs where I applied!
(Well, technically my parents received my letter, as I listed their address on my applications
and didn't change it out of fear that things would get mixed up
and I'd never receive communication from any schools.)
I'm SO excited!
The programs where I applied are pretty competitive so I feared I wouldn't be admitted anywhere.
That's one of the positives/negatives about creative writing: the test scores, GPA and references don't really matter (they do matter, just not as much as they might for other graduate programs). You're mostly judged on your writing samples, which on one hand is great because that's what you're hoping to build a career on. But on the other hand, it's terrifying for precisely that reason. How can you build a writing career if no one thinks your writing skills are good enough? Scary.
So I'm beyond thrilled to have made the cut for at least one school!
But now for the downside...
it's a private college, so it's expensive
Expensive enough that if I don't get a big, fat financial aid package, we definitely can't afford it,
especially since an MFA in Creative Writing isn't exactly a guarantee that I'll get a nice paying job, so it's not an area where we want to take on much debt.
But I'm trying not to worry too much about that just yet.
Right now, I'm basking in the glory of my first acceptance letter.
:)

P.S. Yoshi says hi.

This is the part where you tell the pups how cute they are.
...but seriously, thank you so much for stopping by and for your wonderful comment! I read them all and try to respond as often as I can. We hope you visit again soon :)
