I know, I know. I'm late to the party. But I've been giving sincere thought to this
"before I turn 26" bucket list and I've been working on it for a LONG time now.
Why 26? Because this can also be known as my
"before we have kids" bucket list, and 26 sounds like an acceptable age, no?
Why 20? Because I ran out of legitimate goals and didn't want to pad my list.
Every single one of these I fully intend to complete. We'll see how many of them turn out!
Bold = Completed.
1. Publish a novel.
2. Run a full marathon (this I hope to do on my 26th birthday!).
3. Take our first trip to Europe.
4. Compete in a fitness competition.
5. Do 30 days fully vegan.
6. Adopt a black pug and name it Dobby.
7. Teach a creative writing class.
8. Get a tattoo (and I know exactly what it'll be).
9. Finish my Masters Degree (and perhaps join the world of employed people?).
10. Go on a completely spontaneous weekend trip.
11. Win some money gambling in Vegas.
12. Wear my wedding dress to the beach for a photo shoot on our 5th wedding anniversary
(which is just after I turn 26...still counts).
13. Photograph a wedding (but not as the primary shooter...
far too much pressure for this amateur).
14. Volunteer for something that takes me far out of my comfort zone.
15. Go skydiving.
16. Finish making our wedding scrapbook before I forget all the little details of the day.
17. Find the perfect creative way to announce when we're expecting our first baby.
18. Fire a gun.
19. Bestow an over-the-top kindness upon a stranger.
20. Have steady (I'd settle for semi-steady) paid work as a writer.
What's on your list?
I love this. and that you've already made some progress on the list!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! Quite lofty, but you can do it! :)
ReplyDeleteDo you want to get paid to be a creative writer or are you open to other avenues of income that involve writing?? I'm working on my novel right now in my spare time, but I'm also a writer during my 8-5 grind. Just not creative...technical...it's something you should look into!
I find that it keeps my skills sharp. Do I love it? No. But it pays the bills.. One day I hope to be able to support myself with my fiction works, but, in the meantime, I think this is a great career option for me!
Love this idea!! i should do this as well..
ReplyDeletehow fun would it be to shoot a wedding?
&& I would love to do a fitness competition but i struggle with weight loss - i need to lose 15 lbs before the wedding in October. The future hubby is like u need to be more active but I am not sure what else. :( ill take any advice.
Happy Thursday!!
Love this list! What kind of tattoo do you want? I love people tattoo ideas and the stories behind them :)
ReplyDeletebeing 26 already this list makes me feel SO old! haha either way tho, good for your for having set goals. Keep us posted on how they go!
ReplyDeleteLove the list -- and the fact that you've already crossed a few things off! Jetting off to Europe is a must in my book, and I have no doubt you'll have a published novel (or two) under your belt by then!

Best of luck on completing your goals! And congrats on your writing assignment; it's always great to get the feedback you were hoping for that will help you and not discourage you. And I can't wait to see what you do with your new office space. I love that desk and strongly wish I had a place for something like it at my house!
ReplyDelete(PS-can you tell I just now got caught up on all I missed on your blog...Sorry!)
Love your list! I have a list too and it's a good reminder to keep my eyes open for opportunities.
ReplyDeleteMy friends just announced a pregnancy with a picture of their feet, wearing matching Chucks and a matching pair of baby chucks in front of them...so cute!
I'll be 28 this year and you just made me feel ancient! Oh well, I love this idea -- I have a 30 by 30 list that I'm working on checking items off!
ReplyDeleteLove this list (I'm a new follower, btw)! I've always wanted to take a creative writing class but for some reason I never got around to it in college.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little late too. but i've been wanting to make a list like this too! I love that you made the age 26.. I've wanted to do a photo shoot in my wedding dress too, mainly cause i just want to wear it again!

I love this list! I just recently made a list of 30 things to do before I turn 30... more of a list of inspirations... but I think it will be fun to look back on in 5 years. Good luck with your list!
